RS activity

RELIEF SOCIETY ACTIVITY - PILLOWS FOR BREAST CANCER PATIENTS
On Friday the Relief Society got together to make pillows for those who have had surgery for breast cancer.  The pillows will be given to patients in the hospitals here.  They put them under the arm to ease the discomfort following surgery.  We made something like 67 pillows in less than 3 hours.  I hope people can help add names to the people in the photos.
My luggage cart with my sewing machine (~10 lbs), transformer (~25 lbs) and box of sewing stuff - this thing was so heavy.  Friederun picked me up in her car so I didn't have to take it on the tram. Whew!
My set up ready to sew the pillows.

Elvira organized our activity.
Her daughter came up with the idea and had the connections and told us the specifications and instructions to make them.

These two are ladies in the church neighborhood who saw us gathering and liked the idea so they joined in and helped too.

  1. Looks like a fun project! Reminds me of the days when I used to get together with some friends for quilting projects.
