BIKE RIDE TO TRUBIQUITY AND BEYOND to Heidelberg.
On Saturday, Steve had to go into work so we rode our bikes there.  He stayed to work and I continued on.  I rode along the Nekar river, heading toward Heidelberg, observing more of the flood results and was amazed at how high the water had reached at various points along the river.  Some places it looked like it must have been about 20 feet above the normal level of the river.  After a while, Steve was able to take the tram out towards Heidelberg, getting off in Edingen to meet me and continue on.  We rode to the beginning of Heidelberg and then to Ladenburg for a gelato lunch then home.  I ate the gelato so fast that I didn't have time to take a photo of it.  My ride was about 35 miles.
Here the water is still high but had reached almost 20 feet above normal, bringing trees and someone's boat up onto the banks.  The bike path on the right, would have been about 10 feet under water.

The river covered the bike path here and deposited these trees onto the left side of the path.  The normal level of the river would have been maybe 20 feet below this.

There are many beautiful water towers here in our area.  This one is in Edingen built in 1908.

This is a typical garden area for town people to buy/rent.  They are all over Germany so town people can have a nice garden area.  I think these are wonderful.

The river at the bridge at the beginning of Heidelberg city.
The river is still high but has gone down a lot since the flooding.

Looking from the bridge to Heidelberg.

The river water is still really muddy, like chocolate milk.
