TRIP TO ITALY - The FUNicular day.
May 23rd to the 27th,  trip to Genoa Italy.
We had a nice weather day so we took a Funicular to the top of one of the hills above Genoa.  It really was Fun as in FUNicular.  We had a little problem with buying the tickets from the machine in such that we ran out of coins before the amount needed so it gave us a refund ticket that we would have to take to a ticket office to get a refund and we never did find a ticket office.  But we did get more change from our euro notes and went back and bought our Funicular tickets.  It is like a bus ticket and you can use it for 24 hours.  We enjoyed the great views and had a nice walk along the ancient wall around some of the top part of the city.
Funicular at the bottom of the hill.

Christina under a arch in the city wall.

On top of the city wall above Genoa with a castle in the background.

Under a big tree "shaded" with the ocean and Genoa city way below us.

Another castle along the wall.  Not open to the public.  Nice to look at.

Deciding where to go next.

We had a GREAT lunch in this tiny restaurant that was next to the arch in the wall.
It was just by chance that we walked in what looked like a bar, but Christina found a circular stair that led up to this neat place, named Richetto.  The noodles where the best I've ever had.

In the Funicular on the way back down.

The lines on the wall behind the seats are vertical.  The seats are at an angle.
We took a second trip up and down the Funicular to have dinner at the top.

View from on top of the Funicular.

View down to the harbor.  Our hotel is at the bottom of this photo.

Sweet Christina on top of the Funicular building.

Nice views and a SUNNY day from a walk along the road from the Funicular.

The arch in the wall.  The great restaurant Richetto was just in the wall to the right of the arch which is where we had lunch.
